CSSSA & The CSSSA Foundation

 

The California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) is a cutting-edge and immersive four-week program for talented and motivated high school students in the arts.

CSSSA provides advanced training and education in seven artistic disciplines:

Animation
Creative Writing
Dance
Film
Music
Theater
Visual Arts


Applications open each fall to students of high school age, from rising freshman through seniors, and are due within the first two months of the year.

 

Alongside CSSSA, the CSSSA Foundation (CSSSAF) was incorporated as a 501(c)3 nonprofit to raise a diverse array of private sector funds for the school and to ensure that no qualified student is denied access to the program due to financial circumstances. In providing equitable access and opportunity for all CSSSA students, the CSSSA Foundation is responsible for supporting the following initiatives:

  • Low-Income Scholarships

  • Guest Artists Program

  • Outreach and Diversity

  • College Access

  • Endowment
