What you need to do:

1. Apply to the college or university through their normal application process.

2. Indicate on your college application that you participated in CSSSA.

3. Notify the institution’s Office of Admissions and Financial Aid Office that you are a CSSSA alum and would like to be considered for the discount listed below.

4. If you are accepted the college, you will automatically be considered for the additional CSSSA tuition discount.

5. If selected for the discount, it will reflect on your financial aid package or you will be notified by the school or CSSSA Foundation staff.

Art Center College of Design offers a minimum of one $15,000 tuition discount per year to an exceptional CSSSA alum who applies and is accepted to Art Center. This is a renewable award for up to $60,000, designed to cover a four-year undergraduate course of study if all conditions are met.

Bennington College offers a $10,000 tuition discount to an exceptional CSSSA alum who is accepted to Bennington. This is a renewable award that is in addition to any other merit or need-based grant or scholarship the students qualifies for, and is designed to cover a four-year undergraduate course of study if all conditions are met.

California College of the Arts offers merit tuition discounts to selected CSSSA Animation, Visual Arts, Film, and Creative Writing alumni. These discounts are offered to qualified students at $13,000 per year and are renewable for up to $52,000 over the course of a four-year undergraduate program of study.

CCA’s Pre-College Program, a four-week summer program for high school students, offers three $2,500 tuition discounts per year to selected CSSSA alumni: one in Visual Arts, one in Film, and one in Creative Writing. The Pre-College discounts are awarded to CSSSA participants who are entering their junior year of high school.

California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) is pleased to partner with the CSSSA Foundation and Herb Alpert Foundation to support CSSSA alumni who are accepted and enroll at CalArts. CSSSA alumni who receive a Herb Alpert Emerging Young Artists Scholarship will qualify for a CalArts matching tuition discount over the course of a four-year degree program. CalArts is also pleased to offer a one-time, non-renewable award of $2,500 to all CSSSA alumni who are accepted & enroll. 

University of Redlands (Redlands, CA) offers a minimum of $10,000 tuition discount to any CSSSA alumni, who has been admitted to Redlands and has applied for financial aid. The scholarship will have the potential to renew for three years at that amount for a total eligibility window of four total years.

CSSSA alumni who are admitted and enroll to Laguna College of Art + Design will qualify for an LCAD Merit Tuition Discount ranging from $26,000 to $40,000 over the course of the four-year degree program. LCAD also offers a one-time, non-renewable award of $2,500 to CSSSA alumni who are accepted and enroll.

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago offers a minimum of $19,000 merit tuition discount, renewable each year for a total of $68,000+ to any admitted student who has completed the CSSSA program. This includes a $2,000 competitive excellence scholarship and an additional merit scholarship of at least $17,000.

Mills College offers all CSSSA students that are accepted and enroll a minimum $6,000 Eucalyptus Scholarship, renewable for the remaining three years of their undergraduate course of study. Admitted students will be considered for all merit scholarships above the guaranteed minimum.

The University of the Arts offers a minimum of two half-tuition discounts, on in Visual Arts and one in Performing Arts, to exceptional CSSSA alumni who are accepted and enroll to the university. This renewable award will assist in covering a four-year undergraduate course of study if all conditions are met.
